挪威奥斯陆大学医学院细胞外囊泡和免疫疗法博士后研究奖学金项目

Job description

A three-year full time Postdoctoral Fellowship in Extracellular Vesicles and Immunotherapy (position code 1352) is available at the Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Clinical Medicine, The Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO).

More about the position

The candidate will work on a project to develop extracellular vesicles from NK cells as nanovehicles for cancer therapy. The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council’s NANO2021 progam. NK cells are increasingly exploited in immunotherapeutic therapies against cancers, due to their broad recognition of stress-induced self proteins on the surface of cancer cells. As NK cells have poor ability to infiltrate solid tumors, we will exploit the possibility to utilize NK-cell derived exosomes as a therapeutic product, with the hypothesis that NK-exosomes loaded with cytolytic cargo can infiltrate solid tumors. The work will involve design and production of an optimal NK-exosomal product, and testing using in vitro and in vivo cancer models.

The work includes in vitro culture of primary human cells and cell lines, molecular biology, diverse immunological assays advanced flow cytometry, tumor spheroid models, and in vivo experimentation. The candidate is expected to collaborate with national/international partners and be prepared to travel.

The candidate will work in the research group of professor Marit Inngjerdingen at Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Clinical Medicine. The Inngjerdingen research group is focusing on innate lymphocytes and how they may control inflammation and cancer.

The main purpose of the fellowship is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines.

Qualification requirements

•The candidate must hold a PhD degree (or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree), preferably within immunology or cell biology

•Previous experience with NK cells or exosomes is an advantage

•Experience in experimental immunological research, advanced flow cytometry, and basic skills in molecular biological techniques is a requirement

•The candidate must hold a FELASA C certificate

•The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English

The position is also open for candidates who have completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellow period at UiO. These candidates will be evaluated for a three year position as a Researcher (SKO 1109).
