Single-cell analysis applied to myeloproliferative neoplastic stem cells
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the research group of Dr Adam Mead, based in the Haematopoietic Stem Cell Biology (HSCB) laboratory of Professor Sten Eirik Jacobsen (http://www.imm.ox.ac.uk/wimm-research/haematopoietic-stem-cell-biology/sten-eirik-waelgaard-jacobsen), which works closely with the Molecular Haematology Unit. The position is funded by Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK Limited for 3 years.
This position will especially suit candidates interested in haematopoiesis, leukaemogenesis and leukaemic stem cells, and understanding how key signalling regulators modulate the biology of haematopoietic stem/progenitor cells and their response to novel targeted therapies. The project aims to apply pioneering single cell analysis to help unravel clonal complexity in myeloproliferative neoplastic stem cells.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant area with a strong publication record in normal or malignant haematopoiesis research. Previous experience in experimental application of molecular and cellular biology techniques to the study of haematopoiesis is essential. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills to plan experimental bench-work and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently when required.
