Job Description

We are looking for exceptionally creative and highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join the Maitra laboratory within the newly created Sheikh Ahmed Pancreatic Cancer Research Center at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, of which the PI is the Scientific Director. Our laboratory has been researching pancreatic cancer for the past 15 years, and has contributed to many of the prior seminal discoveries in the field. We are looking for postdoctoral applicants with expertise in the areas of: (1) cancer epigenetics, (2) tumor immunology, and (3) exosome biology. However, applications from outstanding candidates in other spheres of expertise will most certainly be considered.

Please note the following PRIOR to applying for a position:

A: We are looking for individuals who have a PhD, or MD/PhD degree. Preference will be given to individuals who are about to graduate, or have graduated within the last 12 months.

B: Strong preference will be given to individuals who are already in the United States, either as citizens or permanent residents, or have relevant work permits.

C: A track record of first author publication during prior training is essential. Desirable qualifications include expertise with autochthonous mouse models and bioinformatics.

D: We are looking for individuals who are motivated to succeed and are willing to think independently. You may be asked to provide a brief research plan on your roadmap to success during the fellowship training.

The PI works in a vibrant and collaborative "team science" environment, and all possible resources and mentorship will be made available to help you succeed. Numerous opportunities for collaboration, presentation at meetings, grant writing and manuscript writing will be available, and are expected to be leveraged by the successful applicant.
