Salary: Grade 7: £30,738 - £37,768 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Dr Tiancun Xiao/Professor Peter P Edwards (FRS) on a research project funded by University Challenge Seed Funds for a fixed-term period of 6 months. The project involves catalysis for internal olefin generation and process development.

You should hold a PhD in physical chemistry or a relevant subject area, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up your appointment. Manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. Carry out research in catalyst preparation, process simulation and catalyst testing. You should be able to do photo catalysis materials and process or be willing to learn new techniques in photo materials.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, OX1 3QR, and is available from 1 February 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter.
