Postdoctoral position at the Danish Cancer Society Research Center : Copenhagen, Denmark
A position for a Post-doctoral fellow is open at the Genome Integrity Unit, a research laboratory at the Danish Cancer Society Research Center.
The job
We offer an exciting job in an international environment with a strong record in generating new discoveries within the field of cell and cancer biology. You will work under the supervision of Professor Jiri Bartek, and will participate in interesting and highly cancer-relevant projects related to cell cycle checkpoints, DNA damage signalling and repair, ribosomal stress and impact on cancer development and treatment.
Work tasks
· To investigate the cellular networks controlling cell cycle checkpoint pathways in mammalian, mainly human cells, and their defects in cancer.
· To study molecular mechanisms of stress responses, mainly upon DNA damage and ribosomal biogenesis stress.
· To explore the knowledge about the genome integrity maintenance mechanisms in cancer treatment at a preclinical level.
Qualifications that are a bonus
· Strong hands-on experience with molecular and cellular biology-based techniques and biochemistry
· Expertise in work on cell cycle checkpoints and general stress responses
· Know-how in the field of protein translation and ribosomal biogenesis
· Knowledge of signalling pathways and post-translational protein modifications,
· Fluent communication in English

We offer a two-year position (extendable if appropriate) with 37 hours a week with lunch break included. Salary will be according to the current agreements between the Danish Cancer Society and the trade unions.
