A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately at the Vascular Research Laboratory located at the Providence VA Medical Center that is affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in the laboratory of Dr. Gaurav Choudhary. Dr Choudhary’s lab is interested in studying cardiac and skeletal muscle dysfunction as a consequence of heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and other pulmonary diseases affecting the right ventricle. Our lab employs a variety of translational research techniques (preclinical models of a PH, in vivo assessments, treadmill training, Millar PV system) as well as basic science methodologies (Seahorse Mitochondrial Respiration, molecular biology approaches, primary cell isolation and culture) to investigate mechanisms behind these diseases.
Dr Choudhary’s lab is at the Vascular Research Laboratory at the Providence VA Medical Center and is a part of a group of other clinician-scientists and PhDs that together investigate the mechanisms behind cardiopulmonary vascular diseases. The VRL along with the CardioPulmonary Vascular Biology Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) at Providence VA is well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. Desirable candidate will have a PhD with experience in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Physiology, or Immunology, who is motivated, independent thinker, and an effective collaborator in a team environment.
