Postdoctoral/Associate positions available on the molecular/cell biology of neurodegeneration and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Emphasis on roles of presenilin/γ-secretase and familial AD ( FAD ) mutants on neuroprotection, receptor processing/signaling and synapse function. Effects of FAD mutants on APP processing and Abeta. Candidates may also work on identifying specific inhibitors of γ-secretase APP cleavage without affecting other substrates. Experience with animal models, primary neuronal cultures, neuroprotection and neuronal gene expression preferable.
