 苏黎世联邦理工大学(新加坡实验室)网络物理系统(CPS)弹性方向博士后招聘

ETH Zurich is one of the leading universities of the world with a strong focus on science and engineering. In 2010 it established the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in collaboration with the National Research Foundation (NRF) to do interdisciplinary research on pressing problems. In collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), SEC is undertaking a research programme on "Future Resilient Systems", The FRS addresses the challenges with critical infrastructure systems that provide essential services to modern societies, which is of particular importance to innovation-driven economies like Singapore and Switzerland. Within this framework we are announcing the following job opening.Job description

This Postdoc project develops an integrated model for the electricity grid and for the open communication network to test the effects of cyberattacks and unreliable communication services. This model will be implemented into a simulation platform to capture the real-time operations of a CPS. The analysis will focus on the aspects of resilience against cyber-physical dependencies and intentional attacks. It is planned to use an airport as a test system for the development of the CPS models. A relevant aspect will be to model the way in which the allocation of defensive resources such as flexible IT teams mitigate the likelihood of successful cyberattacks. The integrated platform will be applied for studying the impact of reliability problems and attacks in the open communication network on the reliability and resilience of the operation of the CPS. Finally, resilience-enhancing strategies will be tested for trading-off robustness and recovery improvements upon disruptions of the CPS. Please note that the employment will be at the Singapore-ETH Centre and local working regulations will apply. The primary advisor is Prof. Giovanni Sansavini at D-MAVT. Prof. Gabriela Hug at D-ITET ETH Zürich is the co-advisor. The earliest starting date is June 1st, 2020. The workplace is Singapore.Your profile

The successful applicant must hold a PhD or equivalent University level diploma in electrical, industrial & operational research, mechanical, control engineering, or a related field. Principal qualifications include strong programming experience, analytical and quantitative skills, experience with numerical analysis, data analysis and modeling. She/he should be further experienced in cyber-physical system modeling, resilience analysis and communication/power grid modeling. A solid knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory, as this is the language for communication at work. We expect good interpersonal skills, the ability to thrive in a diverse, multidisciplinary environment, and the ability to present work at international conferences.Singapore-ETH Centre

The Singapore-ETH Centre provides a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment to researchers working on diverse themes focussed on sustainable and liveable cities, resilient urban systems, and patient-centric healthcare. The centre is home to a community of over 100 doctoral, postdoctoral and professorial researchers working in three main programmes: Future Cities Laboratory, Future Resilient Systems, and Future Health Technologies.Working, teaching and research at Singapore-ETH Centre Get connected   Interested?
