Are you a postdoctoral researcher interested in the neurodevelopment of executive functions? Are you eager to work with children in a brand-new cutting edge lab facility?

You will be working as part of the world-first ToddlerLabteam at the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, (CBCD), Department of Psychological Sciences. The ToddlerLab is a brand-new facility equipped with cutting-edge technologies aimed at investigating the neurocognitive development in toddlers.

You will have a key role in organising and setting up one of the first studies at the ToddlerLab and you will support a Leverhulme funded research project investigating the emergence of brain-to-brain synchrony during preschoolers' collaborative problem solving. In collaboration with Professor Mareschal, DrPinti and additional project staff, you will play a central role in organising, managing and supporting testing as part of this project.

This position will give you the opportunity to engage in continuous professional development by improving or developing experimental skills in behavioral and neuroimaging testing in toddlers, in managing and organising research projects as well as contributing to developmental psychology research.

The Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, (CBCD), Department of Psychological Sciences, is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to play a key role in delivering a Leverhulme funded research project investigating the emergence of brain-to-brain synchrony during preschoolers' collaborative problem solving, using behavioural, optical motion tracking, eye-tracking and fNIRS- EEG methods. The work will be carried out within the new BirkbeckToddlerlab in Central London.

Candidates should have experience running research within a university lab setting as well as experience of developmental experimental methods. These include knowledge of behavioural and/or neuroimaging experimental testing particularly on children, analytical and statistical methods to analyze behavioural and/or neuroimaging data.

Experience of other methods and programming skills (Matlab or similar) would be an advantage but is not necessary as training will be provided. This post will require working with young children and liaising with parents and teachers and therefore requires excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, attention to detail, and good numeracy skills. Willingness to work flexibly including weekends and school holidays is required due to the availability of participant groups.

Remunerations:

Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £39,173 rising to £44,775 pro rata

The salary quoted will be pro-rata for this part time post and is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
