We would like to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Worker to join our energetic team working to find ways to increase safety and reduce coercion in acute in-patient psychiatric wards. The research programme has been running for some years, and has attracted a high level of research grant income, as well as generating a large number of scientific publications and influencing mental health policy. Under supervision the research worker will undertake a range of small scale research projects relating to patient and staff safety. Tasks may include refining the research protocols with the wider team, securing ethical approval, working with healthcare professionals to collect data, analysing that data in conjunction with others, writing up reports and seeking publication of the results.

The successful candidate may be an experienced researcher with skills in qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis (preferably both). We are looking for a bright, systematic, hardworking, independent thinking and creative individual who will work well with the team.

The post is fixed term for 15 months.

Salary will be on Grade 6, £31,331 - £37,382 per annum, plus £2,323 London allowance per annum
