Research Associate: Electrophysiologist
The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
A postdoctoral electrophysiologist is sought to study the role of receptor and organellar trafficking in synaptic function and plasticity (see Macaskill et al., 2009 Neuron; Twelvetrees et al., 2010 Neuron). The successful applicant will work in the lab of Dr Josef Kittler.
The post is funded until June 2015 in the first instance.
A candidate is sought that is highly motivated, reliable and able to work independently. The successful applicant will have a PhD (or be currently working towards a PhD). It is essential that the successful candidate has significant experience of the appropriate techniques, and a deep understanding of the topic of the investigation. You will be required to have already gained expertise in obtaining and analysing electrophysiological data in neuronal cultures and brain slices. An excellent publication record is also essential.
