A postdoctoral position is immediately available for two years (with possible extension) in the group of Dr Shashi Bhushan at the School of Biological Sciences, NTU Singapore for structural analysis of macromolecular cellular machineries. We are interested in determining 3D structures of macromolecular protein complexes to understand their function and mechanism. We employ Cryo-Electron Microscopy with single particle reconstruction as our main tool for structural determination. Our lab houses 2 advanced FEI cryo-TEMs (T12 and Tecnai Arctica) equipped with direct detector for efficient data collection and high speed computing cluster for 3D reconstruction. We also have access to state of the art Titan Krios installed at NUS for high resolution data collection.
Highly motivated and hardworking candidates with PhD degree in the Life Sciences and strong interest in cryo-EM and structural biology are encouraged to apply.
