Our group is located within a recently expanded state-of-the-art Center that combines basic research laboratories and one of the largest in the country GMP facility for the preparation of cell and gene therapy products for use in clinical trials. Our Center provides highly interactive academic environment where researchers and physicians work together and learn from each other.
The fellowship provides unique opportunities to perform a basic research project on the mechanism of NKT cell localization and function in neuroblastoma, translate research findings into new therapies for children with neuroblastoma, and apply the results of the clinical trials to generate new clinically relevant hypotheses to be tested in the experimental settings.
The ideal candidate will be a recent Ph.D. graduate with strong background and practical skills in cellular immunology, tumor cell biology, molecular biology, and hands-on experience of working with animal models of cancer.
