This is an exciting opportunity to develop and apply qualitative research methods working on a NIHR HTA funded research project: The provision of antenatal information for the NHS Newborn Bloodspot Screening Programme. Working with Dr Fiona Ulph, senior health services researchers, a bioethicist, academic midwife and clinician, the project will involve using a range of qualitative methods to examine alternative communication and consent models for the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Programme (NBSP).
The post is for 30 months full time for an experienced postdoctoral qualitative research associate (RA). The post will involve conducting a literature study with health professionals and parents to examine views of newborn screening consent and communication models; a focus group study to examine stakeholders views regarding study findings; draft project reports and publications; disseminate findings and working alongside a research associate (health economics) to conduct a realist literature review.
