Position Summary:
The overall goal of the fellowship is to develop a physiologically structured population model capable of describing the time courses of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) load in patients receiving antiviral therapy. A key feature of the model will be linking a description of intracellular viral RNA dynamics with the total number of infected hepatocytes and circulating virions in an individual patient. The model will be validated against literature data and applied to analyze Johnson & Johnson clinical data.
Minimum Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in bioengineering with an experience record in mathematical modeling of biological systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in differential equations based modeling and MATLAB programming. Introductory level statistics with focus on nonlinear regression data analysis. Basic understanding of human physiology.
Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000
