A Post-Doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dmitry Gabrilovich of The Wistar Institute to study the mechanisms of combination effects of immune therapy and targeted/chemotherapy of cancer.

Wistar, an independent medical research institute located adjacent to the University of Pennsylvania’s campus in Philadelphia, was founded in 1892 as the first institution of its kind devoted to medical research and training and is recognized today as an international leader in basic biomedical research, most especially in areas related to cancer.

SUMMARY:

The project involves investigation of cellular and molecular mechanisms of synergistic effects of chemotherapy and targeted therapy of cancer with cancer immune therapy. The study involves analysis of molecular events leading to tumor cell killing by T cells and NK cells, evaluation of immune responses in mice and analysis of clinical material from trials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and is expected to be a highly motivated individual with excellent knowledge of cellular immunology techniques and good knowledge of molecular biology. The research project requires experience with handling mice and the ability to work with samples from cancer patients.
