We are seeking a full-time research assistant in Li-ion battery research to join the Solid Mechanics and Advanced Materials research group in the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford).  The post is funded by EPSRC Platform grant and is fixed-term to 1 April 2014.

The PDRA will conduct advanced experimental activities on all solid-state Li-ion batteries, particularly research into ceramic electrolytes: their manufacturing, characterisation and optimisation. PDRA will also be responsible for writing applications for grant funding for research into solid state batteries and materials characterisation.

You should have a higher degree (PhD or equivalent) in Materials Science, Engineering or a related subject. You should possess experience in Li-ion battery material handling and preparation, battery assembly and characterisation. You should combine persistence and patience and the desire to advance research with flexibility and the ability to collaborate within a research group and wider afield.
