A Postdoctoral Associate position is available to study human and mouse stem cell biology, pancreatic and liver specification and in vitro disease modeling.
The Center for Stem Cell and Regency lab has a profound interest in understanding the mechanisms enabling the generation of pancreatic beta-cell and hepatocytes using pluripotent stem cell platform. We use a wide variety of techniques, including functional genomics, chemical screening, tissue explants and transplantation for analyzing inductive signals, developmental genetics and as direct functional assays to pancreatic and hepatic populations.
Furthermore, we will use human patient specific-iPS cell lines to model liver and pancreatic diseases in vitro and perform chemical screen to seek new therapeutical strategies.
Candidates should be trained in molecular and cellular biology.
Experience working with pluripotent ES or iPS cells and/or in pancreas/liver development and disease is preferred.
Knowledge of -omics, high throughput assays, and experience in Gene Therapy is strongly preferred.
