Position: Postdoctoral fellowship
Scope : Full-time
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of prof. Karl Tryggvason and dr Jaakko Patrakka in the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden) to study the biology and diseases of the kidney filtration barrier. Our research unit is one of the world leading laboratories in the field and we have access to most modern technological platforms. The primary focus of the project is to investigate the role of novel proteins in the kidney filtration barrier function using a wide variety of approaches. These include studies performed in transgenic mouse/zebrafish lines and cultured cells. The project is challenging, but due to resources of the laboratory it is a great possibility for a skilled and motivated postdoc to gain a wide-range of experience and expand publication record.
We are seeking enthusiastic applicants who master the basic technologies of molecular biology and are keen to work with various animal models. Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills, be motivated to advance the project and have a proven publication record.
Applicants must possess a PhD Degree (or be in the final stages of completion) in an appropriate scientific discipline. Initially, the project is planned to last two years with a possible extension.
