Postdoctoral Scientist
Salary – £27,183 to £29,885 + excellent benefits

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral scientist, to work as part of a small, highly interactive team in the group of Dr John Sutherland. The project will involve investigation of novel prebiotic synthetic approaches to oligonucleotides and oligopeptides. In general, a systems chemistry approach involving compound mixtures will be employed along with state of the art chemical analysis.
You will have a PhD in organic chemistry or be due to complete your doctoral studies within 6 months of applying. Ideally, you will also have experience with synthetic and analytical organic chemistry.
The successful candidate will be awarded a three-year MRC Career Development Fellowship, which is a training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
Your salary is supported by 30 days’ annual leave entitlement, an optional MRC final salary pension scheme and excellent on site sports and social facilities.
