The Metamaterial Reseach Center (MRC) at the University of Birmingham has postdoctoral position available for a highly motivated candidate with strong background in theoretical analysis on metamaterials, full-wave simulations and preferably some experience in experimental studies.

The successful applicant will carry out research on the fundamental physics and innovative applications of electromagnetic and acoustic metamaterials, including, but not limited to: transformation optics, dispersion engineering, metasurfaces, subwavelength imaging, active metamaterials, dynamical response of metamaterials, and development of simulation codes. He/she should also be willing to work with experimentalists on specific designs and implementations of metamaterial applications.

The applicants should hold a doctorate degree in physical sciences, having a strong theoretical background in electromagnetic metamaterials, acoustic metamaterials or plasmonics. Previous experiences on numerical code development, experiments or collaboration with experimentalists are preferred.
