Post-doc positions are available in the Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory at UNC/NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering. The research team is currently developing advanced control for powered artificial limbs and seeking for applicants in the research areas of robotic control.
The successful candidates will participate in developing and implementing advanced control system for powered limb prosthetics. The candidates are also expected to work with prosthetists and physical therapists to evaluate the system on limb amputees.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have (1) a Ph.D. in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering with relevant experiences in robotic system control, (2) proficient in control theory (optimal control, adaptive control, etc) and its application in robotics, (3) strong programming skills in C/C++ or LabView and system integration skills for real-time control design and implementation, and (4) previous experience with dynamic modeling and simulation. Additionally, previous experience in human-robot interface, machine learning, embedded system design, or human gait and balance is a plus.
