Postdoctoral Positions at University of Illinois at Chicago
Postdoctoral positions are available in the lab of Prof. Yoshitaka Ishii at Univ. Illinois at Chicago (UIC) to study amyloid protein structures by NMR and develop solid-state NMR (SSNMR) methodologies in an ultra-high field. Our current goals are (1) SSNMR-based structural determination of amyloid aggregates for Alzheimer’s β (Aβ), (2) studies of the interaction between Aβ and small molecules, (3) development of novel SSNMR methods using ultra-fast MAS for amyloid and membrane proteins, and (4) SSNMR studies of graphene-based materials. UIC is located in downtown Chicago, and now ranks the top 50th in the U.S by QS World University Rankings. The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree and should have a strong background in two or more of the following areas: biomolecular NMR, SSNMR, molecular biology, protein expression/purification, biophysics of amyloid proteins, and NMR method development. Interested applicants should send their CVs and contact information of three references to Yoshitaka Ishii (yishii@uic.edu).
