Applications are invited for the above post to join a collaborative project between the Centre for Excellence in Autoimmunity in Cancer (CEAC) and the Department of Immunology, based within Immunology, School of Life Sciences. The successful candidate will provide immediate dedicated support for protein array development, production and analysis in relation to colon cancer autoantibody detection. The laboratory science will be relevant to and work in collaboration with a programme of autoantibody detection in hepatocellular cancer. The successful candidate will join the group in support of specific project aims investigating auto-antigens applicable to diagnostic applications.
The candidate should have a PhD or equivalent in immunology-virology and relevant post-doctoral experience with a strong content of Hepatitis C virology, insect cell protein expression clone construction and cell free expression systems, protein purification and validation.
The successful candidate should have the following essential attributes:
Extensive protein production, purification and analysis experience and expertise, especially for insect cell-based systems and additionally use of cell-free in vitro transcription and translation systems. A general skillset of immunological assays and Hepatitis C biology is essential. General cell culture expertise for other cell types, and an understanding of protein microarray methodologies is desirable.
This full time post will be offered on a fixed term contract for a period of 7 months.
