Areas of particular interest include consequences of anthropogenic and natural climate change on the dynamics of large marine ecosystems over scales ranging from years to centuries, physical-biological interactions in fisheries oceanography and marine biogeochemistry, and mechanistic models of climate-ecosystem interactions. Development and pursuit of personal research interests within these general fields of inquiry will be encouraged and supported. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. within three years of the starting date for the appointment, in biological oceanography, physical oceanography, marine ecology, fisheries science and management, earth sciences, or applied math. An ability and keen interest to work across these disciplines is a must, as are robust modeling, quantitative, and analytical skills.
