A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Chengkai Dai at THE JACKSON LABORATORY, which is the world’s mecca for mouse genetics and a National Cancer Institute -designed Cancer Center located in scenic Bar Harbor, Maine. The Jackson laboratory’s contributions to biomedical research have been widely recognized and our faculty have received numerous international honors and prestigious awards including the Nobel Prize, the Shaw Prize (Nobel of the East), and the Lasker Award (America’s Nobel).
Dr. Dai’s laboratory conducts research on human cancer and ageing with a special interest in understanding the emerging roles of the heat-shock /stress response in these two important pathophysiological processes (Cell. Cell 130(6):1005-1018. PMCID: PMC2586609, J Clin Invest 122(10):3742-3754. PMCID: PMC3461912 and http://research.jax.org/faculty/chengkai_dai.html). We employ a broad range of integrated modern techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular biology, high-throughput functional genomics, and cutting-edge mouse genetics (transgenic and knockout mouse models). Dr. Dai’s novel research program is currently well funded by the prestigious Ellison Medical Foundation New Scholar Award in Aging and National Institute of Health Director’s New Innovator Award.
Highly motivated individuals with a good publication record are encouraged to apply. Expertise in cancer biology is preferred, but not required.
