Postdoctoral Position in Glaucoma Research (Biomedical Engineering/Chemistry at Georgia Tech)
The Ethier and Lieberman labs seek a postdoctoral fellow for a joint appointment in the area of glaucoma research. The successful candidate will develop a mouse model of steroid glaucoma and then examine the distribution of relevant proteins in ocular tissues. They will also assist with an ongoing project to develop a novel neuroprotective therapy for glaucoma. The position is initially for 1 year, but we expect that it will be extended for a second year.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D. or D.V.M); at least 2 years’ experience in working with mice and/or rats; excellent communication skills; strong proficiency in English; willingness to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment; and a strong work ethic. Previous experience in histology and/or research in the eye would be a significant plus.
