The Blainey laboratory integrates new microfluidic, optical, and molecular tools for application in biology and medicine, emphasizing quantitative single-cell and single-molecule approaches.
The successful applicant will develop and implement an advanced microfluidic platform for purification of multiple cell types from blood for research and diagnostic applications. Responsibilities will include the design and fabrication of microfluidic devices for cell purification from small sample quantities and transcriptional analysis of purified cell populations.
Requirements:
• PhD in Bioengineering, Cell and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or similar.
• 5-7 years full-time research experience, including 0-2 years postdoctoral research experience
• advanced microfluidics
• cell sorting (flow cytometry or microfluidics)
• analysis of rare cells
