Job Description
The Duke Human Vaccine Institute and the Center for HIV/AIDS Vaccine Immunology-Immunogen Discovery (CHAVI-ID), providing national and international leadership in the fight against major infectious diseases, is currently recruiting for a Postdoctoral position in Immunology/Microbiology.
We are seeking a highly motivated graduate to join our team involved in the development of a preventive HIV-1 vaccine. The selected candidate will be responsible, as a team member of our laboratory, for the identification, isolation and characterization of antibodies with anti-HIV activity obtained from both human clinical samples and non-human primate models to optimize immunogen design and to evaluate vaccine candidates’ efficacy.
Qualified candidates must have a M.D. and/or a Ph.D. in Immunology or Microbiology, or a related discipline. Experience in cell culture, in particular with primary human cells, PCR and molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, virus isolation/cell culture, immunoassays and familiarity with high throughput automated screening systems are desired.
