The Post doc is being part of the research project on inner ear sound transmission. In the project, several methods for stimulating the inner ear are researched with emphasis on direct stimulation of the cochlear fluid. The aim of the project is to systematically quantify the efficiency of the different stimulation modalities and positions, and to reveal fundamental mechanisms resulting in the sensitivity for the excitation. Three types of research models are used, including live research animals and human temporal bones. Data are collected by means of electro-physiologic methods as well as by pressure sensors and laser-Doppler vibration equipment.
