As part of a major EPSRC sponsored initiative between the universities of St Andrews, Cornell, Edinburgh, Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, Oxford, and University College London, we are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work on aspects of topological protection and non-equilibrium states in strongly correlated electron systems. The initiative spans both experiment and theory, with fuller details available at www.st-andrews.ac.uk/physics/topnes. We seek an outstanding candidate who can make contributions across the breadth of this programme. Recruitment will be to the programme in general, and the fellow will be expected to develop connections between the different themes. This advert is for an experimental physicist, who will be working in the first instance with Phil King on Angle Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy (ARPES) studies of strongly spin-orbit coupled systems and candidate topological states. The role will involve work at international synchrotron light sources, running state-of-the-art equipment in the St Andrews lab, performing original experimental research, day-to-day supervision of students and contribution to the administration of the group.
