A full-time Post-doctorial Research fellow is available in Dr. Xue-Zhong Yu’s lab. Dr. Yu is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology with a second appointment at the Department of Medicine at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He also holds a Distinguished responsible Endowed Chair Position in the Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC.
This position is for assisting research design as well as conducting independent projects. Based on individual credentials, a candidate can be appointed as a Research Scientist. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to study the mechanisms of peripheral T-cell activation and tolerance in response to alloantigen and tumor antigen after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. These basic and translational researches are primarily conducted in murine models in vitro and in vivo, and require techniques in Immunology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
A PhD degree in relevent field is required and a strong background in immunology is preferred. Ability in initiating, conducting, evaluating and reporting of research studies is essential. Experience with tissue culture, western blotting, molecular biologic methodologies, flow cytometry, and procedures on mice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
