We are looking for recent PhDs with entrepreneurial leanings, who wish to join an R&D team active in the development, clinical deployment, and commercialization of image registration/fusion technologies for medical and surgical applications. The positions are supported by internal and external (NIH) funds.
Required qualifications are:
- PhD in engineering (electrical, computer or biomedical) or computer science
- Demonstrated expertise through doctoral work in medical image registration, or, more broadly, medical image processing and/or image-guided procedures.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills, including experience with ITK/VTK, Python, OpenGL, and CUDA.
- Good communication skills and evidence of work experience in a clinical setting.
The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of Raj Shekhar, PhD, the Principal Investigator, as well as several other clinical and technical collaborators. The selected candidates will be members of the vibrant Bioengineering Initiative of the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children’s National Medical Center. The Institute was established in 2010 to make significant advances in pediatric surgery and medicine.
