Postdoctoral Scientist position is available at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to investigate mechanisms of lung tissue regeneration. The projects include the role of airway epithelial cells in infectious and non-infectious lung injuries. Experimental approaches employed in our laboratory include molecular biology, genetically modified mice, lineage-specific tracing, mouse lung injury models, prospective isolation and cultivation of lung stem cells, immunology, tissue culture, and genomics studies.
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Dianhua Jiang, and other research staff, the candidate is expected to assist with designing experiments, formulating new ideas related to projects, executing experiments proficiently and timely, and analyzing data professionally.
Educational Requirements:
Doctorate (MD and/or Ph.D. in medicine, molecular biology, developmental biology or immunology) is required. Fresh Ph.D.’s are welcome.
Experience:
The successful candidate is expected to have research experience in lung injury models, cDNA microarray analysis, flow cytometric analysis and sorting, and prospective isolation of lung stem cells. The candidate is highly motivated, collaborative, and hard working. Applicants must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
