We propose a two-year post-doctoral position in the fields of the crustal structure and isostatic modeling of volcanic passive margins. The research activity will be located in Paris (TOTAL, La Défense) during the first year and in Brest (western edge of France) in the CNRS laboratory “Domaines Océaniques” (UMR 6538) at the Institut Universitaire Européen de la Mer (IUEM, University of Brest) during the second year. Field work (notably in the Arctic) will be proposed during the first year.

The candidate is self-motivated, enthusiastic, with good written and oral communication skills in French and/or English. She/he has an excellent and demonstrable scientific level in multidisciplinary geosciences including geodynamics, extensional tectonics, passive margins structure and evolution, seismic interpretation, and solid-state mechanics. She/he must be able to adapt quickly to a range of modeling software.
