Postdoctoral Scientist - Structural Biology
University of Oxford
Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM), Structural Genomics Consortium, Old Road Campus Research Building, Headington, Oxford
Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.
The chemical biology team is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist with extensive experience in protein purification, biophysical characterisation of protein ligand interaction as well as crystallisation and structure determination of protein ligand complexes. The position will contribute to a network of four laboratories that collaborate on a Wellcome Trust funded project (CAMSEED) with the goal developing a new therapeutic concept for the treatment of breast cancer targeting the protein kinase CaMK1D. You will work therefore as part of a team and the ability to communicate and collaborate is essential.
The project milestones are very ambitious and you will have to be a self-motivated, skilful scientist in order to make a strong contribution to the project. Experience in the protein kinase field would be beneficial but is not a requirement. You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in protein biochemistry and structural biology and proven experience in protein biochemistry and/or structural biology. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and strong communication skills will be therefore required.
If you are interested in this role, and have the skills and experience we are looking for, please apply online. You are also welcome to contact us for more details. The full job description can be found via the Apply button below.
