We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a project within the Wellcome Trust funded programme ‘Hearing the Voice’, a collaboration between the University of Durham and the Univeristy of Liverpool. The project will involve studying the voices (auditory-verbal hallucinations) of Welsh-English bilingual psychiatric patients to determine if voices are heard in Welsh, English or in both languages, and to investigate developmental, cognitive and emotional processes which might influence which language voices are heard in.
You will have (or be about to be obtain) a PhD in cognitive psychology or a related aspect of psycholinguitics, and have a track record of researching bilingualism. You will be fluent in spoken and written English and Welsh, with experience of working with psychiatric patients, preferably patients suffering from psychosis. The post is available for 1 year.
