New fluorescent probes for labelling nucleic acids
We are requesting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work under the supervision of Professor Tom Brown and Dr Veronica Buckle on a research project funded by BBSRC. The Project involves development of new fluorescent probes for imaging. The successful candidate will work with scientists in Oxford Chemistry and the Weatherall Institute for Molecular Medicine (WIMM). Applicants will need a PhD in either chemistry, biological chemistry, molecular/chemical biology or a relevant subject area or have submitted their thesis prior to taking up the post. Expertise will be required in synthetic chemistry and some of the following: DNA chemistry/purification, biological/medicinal chemistry. The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, South Parks Rd, Oxford, OX1 3TA and the Weatherall Institute, Oxford OX3 9DS.
The position is funded for a period of 15 months.
