CASTECH led by Prof. Dong Eon Kim at POSTECH, the Asian Headquarter of MPC-AS is seeking enthusiastic scientists for post-doctoral positions in the area of attosecond/femtosecond science and technology.
Center for Attosecond Science and Technology has been established in close collaboration with Prof F. Krausz, Max Planck Inst. for Quantum Optics (MPQ), to further develop new attosecond source and attosecond spectroscopy and metrology to promote the measurement, control and exploitation of ultrafast phenomena in nature that have never been explored before. The activities of CASTECH have been expanded to Max Planck Center for Attosecond Science(MPC-AS). CASTECH is funded to construct 4 attosecond light facilities, one in each area of atomic physics, molecular science, nano/surface science, imaging, and to run a program for the development of new advanced sources. CASTECH has successfully generated isolated attosecond pulses of 300 as duration in Nov. 2011. Attosecond apparatuses for atomic physics as well as chemical physics have been completed.
CASTECH / MPC-AS is seeking two post-doctoral positions to carry out experiments for the study of ultrafast science in atomic and chemical physics using attosecond/femtosecond metrology and the experiments using these equipments. The successful candidates are expected to have experience of pump-probe experiments using femtosecond laser with knowledge related to vacuum technology and XUV radiation.
