Job Description
Description – A full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position is available at the Institute for Environmental Sustainability, Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is a 1-year term position with the potential for a 2nd year renewal based on performance. The successful candidate will develop a research project that examines the social-ecological effects of hydraulic fracturing on landscapes or surface and/or ground water. Applicants are expected to have an education and research background in a relevant discipline including, but not limited to, landscape ecohydrology, petroleum engineering, water resource management, environmental chemistry, landscape ecology or ecological modeling. A central focus of the research program is on how hydraulic fracturing and associated activities potentially affect the quality and quantity of water resources. The successful candidate will work with a team of researchers in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

Eligibility – applicants must have completed all requirements for a related first doctoral degree no more than three years prior to July 1, 2014.
Compensation – the successful candidate will receive compensation at the current Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada rates (approx. $40,000/ year for 2 years) with an allowance for approved conference travel.
