Postdoctoral project leader position (The Chinese University of Hong Kong, HK$ 250,000 per annum)
 
The Zhong lab is working on several research projects to use NGS to investigate how transcription factors and epigenetics (chromatin accessibility, long-range chromatin interaction, histone modifications and DNA methylation) regulate gene expression in different model plant systems, agriculturally important developmental processes and also the roles of these factors in term of evolution and speciation. We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work as a project leader on challenging projects in the field of plant functional genomics. The fellow will be responsible for leading a team of 6 PhD students (50:50 dry wet lab), a senior research associate experienced in Illumina sequencing, and a bioinformatic research assistant. Good communication skill and leadership is a must. He/she is expected to learn NGS and bioinformatics from the PI and other team members, hence experience in these areas is beneficial but not required. The intended postdoctoral fellow must have exceptional molecular biology experiment skills and a proven publication record. He/she must also have high motivation to do challenging NGS experiments and a strong desire to publish top papers as not just first but also co-corresponding author.
