The Dept. of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking one postdoctoral fellow. The individual will work on cutting edge cancer related research projects at the top ranked cancer hospital in the US. The work involves computational analysis. No wet lab experience is required, but candidate must be proficient in programming. We analyze data from a multitude of genomic platforms, including sequencing, RNA, miRNA and protein expression, DNA mutations and copy number, and DNA methylation. The work is not limited to one cancer type, but spans multiple cancers. We are especially involved in the prestigious project The Cancer Genome Atlas, the largest cancer research project at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The position promises participation in such high profile ventures.
Candidates must be proficient in programming, in languages such as R, Matlab, Perl or Java/Java Script. Basic biology and statistics background are expected.
