A postdoc position for two years is available in the field of theoretical many-body physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University. There is funding for 2 years of employment and in case further external funding is procured within the academic area the candidate is estimated obviously qualified for, an extension can be possible for up to a total maximum of 4 years employment as a post doc. The starting date is December 1 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position has special focus on the many-body properties of cold atomic gases, semi-conductors, and hybrid cavity systems. Specific research topics include impurities, superfluids, topological phases, and exciton-polaritons. The successful applicant can work directly with experimental groups abroad as well as locally in Aarhus.

The applicant will be part a vibrant research environment at the Institute of Physics and Astronomy at Aarhus University. This includes the Centre for Quantum Optics & Quantum Matter (CQOM), which consists of several theoretical and experimental research groups investigating cold atomic gases, cavity systems, quantum optics, quantum information, and mesoscopic ion crystals. For further information on CQOM, see http://phys.au.dk/forskning/forskningsomraader/cqom/
