Postdoctoral Associate
Baylor College of Medicine (BCM)
Summary
The Postdoctoral Associate will conduct a CPRIT-funded translational research project in osteosarcoma. Osteosarcoma is the most common malignant bone tumor in children and young adults. Despite the advent in treatment, the outcome of patients who develop metastasis is dismal. Our lab has previously identified chemokines that are significantly associated with high-risk osteosarcoma. The main purpose of our research is to understand the role of an important chemokine axis in the development of metastasis of the pediatric bone cancer, so that novel therapeutic strategies can be developed to improve the outcome. The position will provide opportunities to engage in research using state-of-the-art methodologies, including single-cell omics, xenograft mouse models, CRISPR gene editing, and cancer immunology. The ideal candidate is expected to compete for various postdoctoral fellowships and publish in high-impact journals.
