The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) of Chinese Academy of Sciences invites applications for a chair professor position in statistics starting in 2020 or 2021.
We seek candidates with an outstanding research record and leadership. AMSS offers internationally competitive salary and benefit package. Successful applicants are expected to conduct full-time research at AMSS. Teaching is appreciated, but is not an obligation.

As the mathematics research institution of Chinese Academy of Sciences, AMSS pursues fundamental research of the highest level in all areas of mathematical sciences. The statistics research in AMSS covers a wide range of theoretical, computational and applied topics in data science such as probability, experimental design, reliability, econometrics, biostatistics, and bioinformatics. Currently, AMSS has 220 faculty members, including 16 Fellows of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 Fellow of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 48 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
