We were recently awarded a NIH R01 to develop tools and techniques for imaging biochemical dynamics in dendritic spines using reversible fluorescent nanosensors. This project will integrate techniques from high-speed confocal microscopy, electrophysiology, nanotechnology, and cell biology. We are looking for motivated candidates to fill a postdoctoral research associate position on this project. A competitive candidate should have a strong track record of research in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or neurobiology. Our group is multi-disciplinary and collaborative, and candidates who work well on a team will be given preference.
Qualifications & essential functions: PhD degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical sciences, or a related field. Expertise in at least two of the three areas:
- Neurobiology/electrophysiology
- Nanomaterial fabrication and characterization
- Optical microscopy and biophysics
Interested applicants should send a cover letter and CV to clarklab@neu.edu. References will be requested from applicants after screening and phone interviews.
