This position involves research projects which focus on understanding the mechanism of polarized protein trafficking in primary cilia of neurons, specifically in photoreceptors, and delineating the pathogenesis of associated degenerative disorders. The work entails the use of cell culture and animal models (mice and zebrafish) in addition to basic cell and molecular biology techniques. Experience in microinjections into mice and zebrafish is desirable.
