Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), Department of Radiation Oncology, has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate in radiation therapy physics. This federally-funded postdoctoral appointment will focus on development of advanced image-guided radiation treatment techniques to improve radiotherapy outcomes.
Candidates with a PhD degree in medical physics, computer/biomedical engineering, applied mathematics or other related fields are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should have experience in image processing with scientific programming skills with MATLAB and C/C++. Experience with computational modeling, plan optimization, treatment response evaluation, and other radiotherapy related applications is desirable but not required.Candidates must be self-motivated and have good communication skills.
The Department of Radiation Oncology has ten linear accelerators equipped with on-board CT, four multi-slice CT scanners, and one Philips MRI scanner. Advanced treatment planning systems include Varian Eclipse, BrainLab iPlan and Philips Pinnacle planning systems. Henry Ford Health System offers an excellent salary and benefits package.
