This NIH-funded project focuses on understanding the physical and chemical changes in the proteinaceous cancer biomarkers in human serum and blood during processing and storage. This information is then used to develop new methods and techniques to stabilize the molecular information in biological specimens.
The candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. The candidate must have excellent experimental skills and experience with standard biochemistry and analytical chemistry techniques such as UV-Vis, and Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, HPLC, Western blotting, silver staining, ELISA, and MS. Interested candidates should contact Prof. Alptekin Aksan by e-mail (aaksan@umn.edu). In your message, please include a detailed resume, electronic reprints of recent publications, and the names, and contact information for at least three references.
