Our independent, non-profit research institute (La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology) located in beautiful San Diego, California, is currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for an immediate opening in the laboratory of Dr. Nunzio Bottini (http://www.liai.org/pages/bottini-home). The laboratory specializes in functional genetics of tyrosine phosphatases and their role in signal transduction. There is a strong emphasis on translational relevance to human autoimmune diseases and rheumatology. The research project will require the use of a combination of approaches including biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and immunology and in vivo studies in mouse models of autoimmunity such as diabetes and arthritis. Training will be provided in all of these approaches. Postdoctoral candidates must have obtained within the last three years, or be close to obtaining, a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D or other Doctoral degree. At least one first author publication in an international peer-reviewed journal is required.
